How Ordering Works: From Your Design to Delivered Labels

A custom label design proof with material and color swatches and a black-and-white preview

Ordering custom labels with us is simple, and you approve exactly what you’re getting before anything is produced. Here’s the whole process, step by step, so you know what to expect from your first message to delivery.

Step 1 — Send us your design & quantities

Start by sending us your artwork or design and the quantities you want made. Don’t have print-ready files? That’s fine — send whatever you have, or lay it out in our online label generator, and our team takes it from there. You can kick things off with a free quote.

Step 2 — We review your design

Our team takes your design and works out exactly what it needs to be produced well:

  • We figure out which colors are needed and how to match them (thread or print).
  • We look for any issues with the design for the label type and order you want — things like tiny text, fine detail, or color counts that won’t reproduce cleanly — and we flag them up front so there are no surprises.
  • We confirm the best material and construction for your label and use.

This is where our experience saves you headaches — we catch the small things that make the difference between an okay label and a great one. (See how to prepare artwork and color matching for the details we look at.)

Step 3 — You get a proof to approve

Before we make anything, we send you back a PDF proof so you can see and approve exactly what will be produced. Your proof includes:

  • The material we’ll use for your label.
  • The colors we’ve determined for your design.
  • A black-and-white preview of what the label will look like.
  • Size guides showing the dimensions the label will be made to.

You review the proof and let us know. Want a change? We adjust and send an updated proof. Nothing goes into production until you approve.

Step 4 — We produce your order

Once you’ve approved the proof, we make your labels exactly to the approved spec — the material, colors, and sizes you signed off on.

Step 5 — Shipping or local delivery

When your order is made, we get it to you: we ship it to you, or for customers in the Los Angeles area we can deliver locally. Either way, your finished labels arrive ready to use.

Why the proof step matters

The proof is your guarantee. Because you see the material, colors, black-and-white preview, and sizing before production, there are no surprises — what you approve is what you get. It’s the same reason we recommend reviewing your label size and fold at this stage.

Frequently asked questions

Do I get to see the label before it’s made?

Yes. We send a PDF proof showing the material, the colors we’ve determined, a black-and-white preview of the label, and size guides. We only produce your order after you approve it.

What if there’s a problem with my design?

We review every design for issues before producing — like fine detail, small text, or color counts that won’t reproduce well — and we flag them and suggest fixes so your label comes out right.

Do I need a finished, print-ready file?

No. Send whatever you have or use our label generator, and we’ll work out the colors, material, and sizing with you.

Do you deliver locally?

Yes — we ship orders, and for customers in the Los Angeles area we can deliver locally once your order is made.

How long does it take?

We process quotes and proofs quickly, and we’ll give you a production and delivery timeframe with your quote. See our FAQ for more.
